Gillian graduated from the University of Sydney in 1982, and was admitted to the NSW Supreme Court as a solicitor and to the roll of the High Court of Australia that year. She is also admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of the ACT.
Gillian is a member of the Law Society of NSW and the Family Law section of the Law Council of Australia. She has written and presented papers to professional legal education seminars.
Gillian is able to assist you in all areas of family and relationship law including family and de facto partnerships, and the drawing of financial agreements including termination and cohabitation agreements. She has conducted and advised in parenting, superannuation-splitting and financial matters in both mediated and contested Court proceedings.
Gillian has the experience necessary to conduct more complex family law matters which may include business/commercial, corporate and trust interests, farming interests and family estates or where third parties intervene in family law matters. She has acted in matters as diverse as the abduction of children domestically with recovery orders, and internationally pursuant to the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction. Gillian has represented UK, French, USA and Japanese citizens and residents before the Family and Federal Circuit Courts.
Gillian has practised in the Local, District and Supreme Courts of NSW, the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal in its protective/guardianship and consumer divisions, and the Federal and Federal Circuit Courts of Australia, the Family Court of Australia and the High Court of Australia.
